We have been doing a lot of work recently on Cloud technology and helping clients work away from their desks – emails in Spain, websites from canal boats, updated meeting notes whilst in London, backups alway available when needed etc. Once freed from their desk many people then look to be free of having to carry a laptop, so they look to smartphones and tablets. For many years when I was out of the office I worked with a PDA and mobile phone and more recently a smartphone but as my cloud demands have grown I purchased a highly portable iPad Mini.
I have packed the iPad for my trip to Scotland (where it has proved useful for a little work and lots of watching videos) but this morning I noticed that my £400 plus iPad now has a substantial scratch on the screen. Inevitable, even though I am careful with my gadgets I do take them to some “difficult” places. Fortunately the man, on the market stall right outside the Apple shop in Lincoln, who sold me a case for the iPad also sold me a screen protector.
So, unless you feel lucky, buy screen protectors for your gadgets.
