I have just got off the phone to my brother who works with a reputable I.T. company down in Essex. There has been a malware attack on 3 of their clients sites. The bug gets in by an email etc. So I can only reiterate how important it is to be wary about which emails and attachments you click on.
This particular bug, at the moment, CANNOT be removed. It encrypts your data with a 2048 bit key. And then you are issued with a figure to get your data unlocked. You need to consider if the people behind this would actually unlock it or not!
The only way is to make sure you have your data backed up and to restore from them.
Make sure your anti virus and firewall are up to date. If you need any assistance with your backups or any other query please contact us.
