In between meetings today, I am changing the operating system on an older XP laptop to a version of Linux. The client has been using this small laptop for when he is out of the office and has been very happy with it. Following a review of his system I had written for him, he was less happy with me when I had included this machine in the list of PCs and servers that will need to be retired when Microsoft ends it support for XP and various other products later this year.
On further discussion I came up with a solution he favoured – change the operating system to something “Windows like” so he could still use his mini sized laptop.
