This is a weekly round-up of the articles from Smart Thinking Solutions, our specialist cybersecurity, governance and compliance web site.
The articles are mostly quick reads to give you an overview of the cybersecurity threat landscape facing businesses today, with links to the sources. Many of the posts have action points or top tips to help you navigate these threats to your organisations.
Sometimes they are just there to make you smile!
The UK Government’s Draft Online Safety Bill makes several headlines this week. The aim of this blog has always been to make people think about cyber security and privacy, so take this opportunity to read these articles and think about how this new law may help or hinder your privacy.

I would also recommend reading Dina Temple-Raston’s article about how Ransomware-as-a-Service really got started – I thought it was really interesting how saying “no” led to hackers moving to a “business model” for their attacks! Following on from that, there is a link in my post to a more disturbing article – a ransomware gang giving a “business statement” interview – where among other things they discuss discounts they give to legitimate recovery firms who enable the collection of the ransoms! If that does make you realise we live in a world where everyone needs to take actions about their cyber security then nothing will.
There is also something for Valentine’s Day.
