What We Do (Part 3) – Critical Checks

In this final part of our what we do series we explain about a client for whom there is no room for error on the day so critical checks have to be carried out.

Critical checks should not be guesswork!
Critical checks should not be guesswork!

Overview

One of our clients is a big venue hosting huge volumes of the public, so their systems are required to run seamlessly and smoothly on event days in line with contractual and technical obligations. The events are planned to such a degree that timings are inflexible.

Part of our responsibilities is to ensure that operations regarding TV, networking and various IT technologies run smoothly on the day.

We have put in place multiple systems which report to us via our devices to assist in diagnosing any problems which arise. We back this up with time-consuming manual checks as a precaution due to the contractual obligations of the venue.

First, we have a full walk around the premises to inspect various networked IP TVs – this is required to ensure that the public see the intended content on each one. They are designed to display multiple streams from different sources.

Internet access is vital for almost all staff for the smooth running of the event, and is provided evenly over the whole site. We monitor all access points and network equipment to make sure they are functioning properly.

On event days we are on site for any developing problems which may require our attention. We even help out with some non IT related tasks if required, such as assisting the public on behalf of the venue.

I hope you find this blog post helpful! If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
