COVID-19 has changed the world – no doubts about that! Was it for the better or for the worse? Well the answer would differ I suppose depending on who answers – some people would say 2020 was difficult, many businesses had to close their doors temporarily and many for good, whilst for some companies the pandemic created good business opportunities and stable income. For me it was definitely a very challenging year. Why? I’m a working-from-home mum of two boys and I think this speaks for itself! I’m sure we all can agree that 2020 and the pandemic brought a huge digital transformation to the majority of businesses globally.
Across the world we now rely on technology more than ever before. We sell and shop more online, we communicate more through email and virtual platforms, and most definitely we do more online networking too. And you know what? Online networking is a fantastic way to meet new and inspiring people! Coffee in one hand, confidence in the other, a smile and a friendly approach and success is yours!
Was digital transformation on your agenda?
Surely for many businesses digital transformation wasn’t something they wanted or aimed to achieve in the near future but then the majority of office staff were forced to work from home. We’ve seen how the COVID crisis rapidly reshaped businesses plans and strategies. At first this created uncertainty, stress and a lot of dilemmas. Businesses were questioning this new way of working, worrying about customer experience, culture, leadership, workforce and technology integration. Then with a little help from IT departments or trusted IT companies like us most businesses settled down and now even like this new way of working. The technology was already there and it was just a matter of breaking the ice and starting to use it with confidence. So today remote working has transformed their approach from ‘nice to have’ to ‘the only way work gets done’ and it’s become a new norm for many.

Microsoft 365 and its tools has been helping businesses of all sizes. This solution is great, and it helps companies to adapt to the new way of working and still deliver value to their customers. I just love that Microsoft Teams makes business life so much easier and not only business, it is also a great platform for meetings with family, friends and more than friends. Think about all these cancelled holidays, postponed family meetings both nationally and internationally. I have a family and friends abroad too and because of COVID-19 I was not able to visit them as I normally would but due to this technology I can still talk to them and see them every day – we have great online meetings and lots of giggles too. But let’s think business!
Microsoft Teams allows us to chat, meet, call and collaborate with co-workers, customers, suppliers etc and do business anywhere. Microsoft SharePoint allows us to share files, data, news and resources. It’s a great collaboration tool with people inside and outside your organisation. And finally, OneDrive is great for storing and sharing your online data securely. Microsoft 365 has got it all!
