The top story of the week is that we have now passed 1000 cyber security articles on Smart Thing Solutions:
This is probably the second most important story of the week to anyone who owns a business and employs someone who they have to trust:
Whether you believed that the Google AI is sentient or had a sly smile at the smart man from Google, who thought it was – my concern at the time was that Blake Lemoine, abused his trusted position and gave away Google’s confidential information. What would you if one of your people had done that?
We have also had a full week of cyber security stories that can have a direct impact on you and your organisation. Open source intelligence (OSINT) has come back into the news, with a highly targeted phishing campaign using information readily available on LinkedIn, ransomware is there, with large and small organisations being held to ransom by threat actors and we have had the usual range of patches and updates issued to keep us protected. Microsoft macros were back in the news.
We have had a look at some of the larger cyber threats and attacks, such as cyber weapons, Apple networks being diverted and the cutting of internet cables in Paris.
I have launched a blog on CyberAwake, different content to here and on Smart Thinking, (although I have just noticed I reused an image between two different articles), with a plan to publish a longer article and advice at least twice a week.
There were also many articles with hints and tips for you:
The advice for the Ukraine Russia conflict has been updated.
This is a weekly round-up of the articles from Smart Thinking Solutions, our specialist cybersecurity, governance and compliance web site.
The articles are mostly quick reads to give you an overview of the cybersecurity threat landscape facing businesses today, with links to the sources. Many of the posts have action points or top tips to help you navigate these threats to your organisations.
Sometimes they are just there to make you smile!
