The customer’s needs first

I should have been at Business Club tonight but we have been working on a network issue for a client today which has meant altering the DNS on their servers. To reduce the impact on the client we planned the changes during the day and are implementing and testing them tonight.

Whilst I have been working on on the servers this evening, Martin has been on site with another client who called at 5pm with a computer issue, which on investigation turned out to be a problem with some third party equipment caused by the thunder storms during the afternoon. Martin turned out to solve the problems with the computers, so our client could get on with his work – the other supplier did not even answer their phone at 5pm let alone solve their issues.

We always try and respond to computer problems to reduce the impact these have on our clients – and that includes answering phones and turning out on site out of hours.

Luckily I am doing my job by remote, over the Internet, from home – and whilst I am working Sky is playing Supertramp Live in Paris ’79. This is the second time recently that Sky have had an excellent concert on whilst I am working from the home office!
